$34.95 Legere Synthetic Reed (temporarily out of stock) Traditional cane reeds can be kind of temperamental - they often require soaking, they can change their characteristics ten minutes into a playing session, and in extreme climates the tips can warp if not stored properly.  So we set out to find the best synthetic reed out there.  This one hit the spot - it sounds great immediately, is immune to weather variations, requires no special care, and it produces sound as good as the real thing.  Recommended for beginners!

$34.95 Rovner Ligature By popular demand!  The Rovner ligature has a legendary following on the Xaphoon.com discussion forum.  It's a leather ligature which replaces the standard metal one and provides firm, distributed pressure on the reed to provide a sure and stable fit.  Get your best sound every time! (Note: Because this ligature was designed for a standard saxophone mouthpiece, it also comes with a cover which you can either discard or use as a giant thimble. :-) )
